HomelessnessSince January 2007 the definition of a 'Social Firm' has been 'an enterprise set up specifically to provide good quality employment for people severely disadvantaged in the labour market.' This is an expansion of the previous definition which included only disabled people. Homelessness is an example of severe disadvantage in the labour market. Two reports on homelessness are now available to download free of charge from the Resource Centre of this website: - 'Daytime Homelessness' by Anwen Jones and Nicholas Please, Centre For Housing Policy, University of York, April 2005. In September 2002, homelessness charity, CRISIS, commissioned this research project exploring the concept of daytime homelessness. It also examined the role and nature of daytime provision, meaningful activity, education, training and employment opportunities for homeless, formerly homeless and vulnerably housed people. |
