Growth sectors for social firms - is Information and Community Technology full of opportunity for social firms, how accessible is the travel and tourism sector, and can the recycling sector be profitable as well as environmentally useful? Workshop 9 (Fyne Room):
Developing social firms in Rural Areas - this requires an approach which adds value, rather than competes with local businesses. For firms not based in cities and large towns the approach in the Highlands and Islands represents a considered, professional and long-term approach which is neglected in many start-ups. Led by Donald Mcleod, Social Firm Consultant, Inverness, and Vicki Samuels, Networks, Isle of Skye.

Workshop 10 (Boisdale Room 2):
Funding options for social firms - social firms have traditionally been adept at achieving start-up funding but less successful at negotiating non-trade revenue streams or funding for capital expansion.
