This packaging, fulfilment, distribution and warehousing franchise opportunity is provided by Pack-IT, winner of the 2003 DTI/RBS/NatWest Social Enterprise of the Year Award, and 2005 overall winner of the European Social Firm of the Year (CEFEC).
The packaging market in the UK is growing fast. Businesses, constrained by their own lack of workspace, are increasingly looking to obtain warehousing space from external companies, who can offer secure, safe and reliable warehousing and distribution services. The growth of Internet shopping means that customers want to order a product and have it shipped the same day. Pack-IT is particularly expert at organizing awkward and unusual mail-shots – an increasing market, as companies look to market their services in more diverse ways.
Pack-IT is based in Cardiff and employs 14 people. However, by working in partnership with Social Firms UK, it is looking to achieve a presence across the whole of the UK. This would allow the overall brand to compete on a national basis, make use of economies of scale and link business opportunities to take on larger contracts from Government and private organisations.
