Board of Trustees
The Board of Social Firms UK has the following composition:
• not less than five and not more than eight people appointed by the membership across the UK regions/nations and elected by the membership at the AGM.
• not less than one and not more than three Social Firm support agencies elected by the membership at the AGM.
• not less than two and not more than four persons elected individually at the Annual General Meeting. Only individual members of the company or persons nominated by organisations which are members may stand for election to the board of directors.
• the board of directors may in addition co-opt no more than three other persons, whether or not members of the company, to serve as full voting members of the board of directors.
This board composition was passed by special resolution in March 2007, and elections for a new board of trustees took place ready for the AGM on 23 June 2008. About Our New Chair
A new Chairman, Stuart Boreham, was appointed on 23 June 2008. Stuart is setting up a Social Firm called Moreton Green Ltd. He is also an inspirational speaker and was the first person with a disability to row across the Atlantic solo in 2004.
