Work & Jobs: Enterprising Solutions

Thursday 12th July 2012, 9:00am - 3:55pm

This conference is relevant for organisations and individuals in all three sectors: public, private and civil society. Unemployment is on the increase and spans the sectors; it calls for collective creative solutions. This conference will be of interest to:

  • social enterprises that are focused on helping disadvantaged people into employment and work, though whatever means that might be (so it includes Social Firms as well as ILMs, vocational training providers and job placement organisations, for instance)
  • corporates that are driven to genuinely meet their corporate responsibilities and, in the process, bring more business into the social enterprise sector, and
  • policy makers and statutory agencies that wish to gain more of an understanding about the social enterprises that focus on jobs and employability, tackle worklessness and achieve social inclusion.

The event will showcase innovative employability, work integration and job creation initiatives, debate practice and discuss the employment needs of individuals with disabilities, mental health problems and other disadvantages such as homelessness and ex-offending. The task of how to grow the sector in order to meet large scale at this time of economic challenge will be discussed and visions for the future shared.

The networking experience of our annual residential conference is second to none, so to get the best from the event come for the evening of the 11th July conference dinner as well as the 12th. Meals are included in the residential delegate rate.
